7 Foods To Eat For Glowing Skin
Can you eat for glowing skin?
The answer is YES YOU CAN…
But we think it is all about skincare and expensive product that will give us glowing skin. Although skincare plays a huge part in getting glowing skin. But if your diet is lacking essential nutrients then there is no chance that only skincare will cover all your skin problems.
I talked about how diet is closely related to our skin health in one of my previous posts. Here is a link to it if you want to check it out. Is There A Link Between Acne And Diet..?
Beauty comes from the in and outside. In this post, I am giving you my top five foods to eat for glowing skin.
Foods Not To Eat For Glowing Skin:
We need to learn what NOT to eat first. Because if we keep putting junk in our bodies then they will keep on harming our skin no matter what we eat with them.
Any foods that have no nutritional value should be avoided. They are mainly processed foods and sugars
These foods get stuck to the food tracks in your body. Food tracks are the ways from which our food travels. These foods definitely get stuck into your body affecting every single cell including your skin cells.
1- Processed Food:
Number one is to stop consuming processed food. Make meals by yourself.
Why?
Because processed food has a lot of other ingredients inside them that your body doesn’t need. Like preservatives, excess sugars, MSGs and whatnot.
Now if we keep on consuming these extra ingredients, our body will keep the nutrients from these foods (which are very less) and the rest of these ingredients will become toxins.
These toxins will then overwhelm our liver and kidneys because they are responsible for getting rid of these toxins. The result will be, that toxins will find their way out from our skin.
This will result in acne, blackheads and skin irritations etc.
2- Sugars:
Sugars are a huge part of junk foods. But sugar from sugarcane, right? And that sounds very organic.
The process that is used to make white sugar takes all the nutrition out from the raw form of sugar.
Raw form of sugar is called jaggery. Now that is a whole other subject because organic jaggery is beneficial for you. Lear more in this post: Benefits Of Jaggery For Your Skin
This processed sugar is very harmful to our health. We all get sugar cravings and even I am guilty of eating lots of sugar on stressful days. But then I do a detox session on my body. I use any one of detox drinks for this.

Also, People use energy drinks thinking that they are good for their health. Trust me, there is no energy except that they’re taking out energy from you. Because the main ingredient in them is sugar. So you get your glucose level up, your insulin level up, and then you fall into a big hole of tiredness.
Foods To Eat For Glowing Skin:
Eat foods that are good for your gut. Good for your gut means it will eventually make your skin good.
Buy raw food and eat it by cooking it yourself, or you can eat raw foods like fruits and vegetables.
If you don’t have the time, go to the grocery store and look for things which are just cooked. Cooked without excess sugars, fats or preservatives.
1- Salmon:
Salmon is a nutritious food. It contains high amounts of minerals and essential vitamins. That makes our body healthy and thus our skin also gets glowing and healthy.
You can buy it from the stores or go to farmer’s markets.
2- Mushrooms:
I love mushrooms. They’re great for your immune system. And what’s great for your immune system, of course, is great for your skin as well. They’re good for digestive health. Also, they’re high in zinc. But it’s important where you’re getting them from.
So always look from the origin country because it is important.
3- Almonds:
Why almonds? Because they are high in protein. They are a great source of different minerals and vitamins. I like to carry them with me as a go-to snack. So that I don’t much on junk food when I get snacky 😛
Only snack on the original Almonds. Not glazed, not covered with chocolate or sugars, not salted, and not even roasted.
You can also snack on walnuts, pistachios and pine nuts. But not raisins or dried berries as they are high in sugar. I mean, this is why you love it, because it’s sweet.
4- Olive Oil:
Olive oil, or any unsaturated oil. Flaxseed oil is also good because it has the most unsaturated fats inside.
Consuming olive oil boosts squalene levels in your body. Olive oil is a great source of vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant that helps to moisturize the skin.
Whenever you buy olive oil, never buy it in a transparent bottle. Because UVA is entering and connecting with this oil. Already destroying all the unsaturated fats. All the good stuff about fats gets destroyed. So why even use them?
No, buy olive oil that has a dark-coloured bottle. or maybe has a covering on the bottle. If you keep the olive oil open, oxygen and UVA will destroy the oil, making it less effective.
5- Tomatoes:
Tomatoes or any kind of colourful vegetables are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants are something that helps to preserve us.
Tomatoes also have a high antioxidant level. Tomatoes are actually so much better if you fry them. Because with a frag process, you get this glycogen and the lycopene is a big antioxidant which is protecting you and your skin.
Its a kind of like a protection shield. These are antioxidants for your cells. And it doesn’t matter if it’s from the outside or from the inside.
Aside from tomatoes, many colourful vegetables are also great to eat for glowing skin. Including Red peppers.
6- Free-Range Eggs:
There is a research in the Shahid Chim, Berlin. People who ate farmer eggs or free-range eggs get compared with people who ate eggs from stressed chickens (local cheap eggs). They showed the skin with a Raymond Macroscope microscope, they could label the antioxidant level.
People who ate the free-range eggs had almost 10 volts higher antioxidant levels than those who ate local eggs.
7- Berries:
Perhaps one of the most well-known berries, blueberries are one of the best fruits you can eat for your skin. This is because they are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants are the substances that keep you protected from damage.
Antioxidants combat cell damage left by free radicals. Free radicals have been linked with the development of chronic diseases, as well as speeding up the aging process.
Blueberries are particularly high in anthocyanins. These plant compounds have strong antioxidant properties and give blueberries their natural purple-blue color.
You can spend tons of tons of money on skincare if you’re not eating the right things, it won’t help. And some of you may say, yeah, I’m eating so well but I still have bad skin.
Okay, I’m not saying that just eat for glowing skin. Eating plays a big role. It is the basis for your skin health as well as your body health. But, you need to have a skincare routine as well.
To Conclude:
- Think before you put something in your mouth, remember it’s going through your system.
- Anything excess that does not provide nutrition to your body will eventually be treated as a toxin in your body.
- Eat raw foods to keep your skin health and body health on point.
- Make sure to keep a clean diet and a good skincare routine. They both work together to keep your skin healthy.
